Hawaii's Largest Volleyball Tournament Returns
For over a decade, the Five-O Classic Volleyball Tournament has brought together athletes, families, and fans from across Hawaiʻi and around the world for one unforgettable weekend of competition and community.
Now celebrating its 11th year, the Five-O Classic has grown into Hawaiʻi's premier indoor volleyball event, featuring more than 200 teams, 2,500+ players, 27 courts, and over 40 hours of nonstop action across 200,000 square feet of play at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center.
From youth divisions showcasing the next generation of talent to highly competitive adult and open divisions, the Five-O Classic offers an experience for every level of the game. More than just a tournament, it's a celebration of volleyball culture, bringing together local pride, international competition, and the aloha spirit that makes Hawaiʻi special.
What sets the Five-O Classic apart is its commitment to accessibility and value. It remains one of the only tournaments of its scale with team entry fees under $1,000, which include spectator passes and exclusive access to Polyfest 2026, Hawaiʻi's premier island music festival featuring Aaradhna, Sammy Johnson, Johnny Suite, and more artists to be announced.
Whether you're competing for a championship, supporting your favorite team from the stands, or making memories with friends and family, the Five-O Classic is where volleyball and community come together.

*If a player does NOT participate in a pool play game, they will be INELIGIBLE to play during the playoffs and/or championships
*College (current and former, depending on how long they graduated), international, and professional MUST play in the AA/opens division. If you are unsure, please contact me via email at knamoku@gmail.com
*Teams will NO longer be able to add players after the deadline unless it’s for emergency reasons (EX: injuries, flight delays or cancellations)
*NO DOUBLE ROSTERING. Only exception would be females that play in both the women’s and men’s divisions. (EX: a female may play women’s A and Men’s B)
The team representative must check in with the Court Manager at the site of their first scheduled game to validate their roster prior to the team’s first game. If there are changes to the original roster that was submitted, they must be made at this time. Once your roster has been validated by the Court Manager prior to the first game, no changes to the roster will be allowed. A player will be allowed to play at any point during the tournament so long as he/she is listed on the roster prior to the start of the team’s first game. (A player does not need to play in pool play in order to play in the elimination playoffs.)
Should a team have an injury or injuries leaving them with 5 or fewer players, they will immediately forfeit that game. If they are not able to produce 6 players from their approved roster by their next scheduled game (pool play or elimination), they will be eliminated from the tournament. Under no circumstances can a player be added to the roster after the team’s first game in the tournament begins.
-
Four (4) teams per pool, and there is a maximum of eight (8) teams per division.
(This may be altered depending on the number of teams entered in the tournament.)
Game:
Each game will consist of 2 (two) sets to 25 points, deuce, and capped at 27 points.Time:
Each set will be given 8 minutes, stop and go, meaning time will run until ball is called dead. If time runs out before a team has reached 25 points, the winner will be the team with more points. If teams are tied or within one point of each other, play will continue until a team is winning by 2 (two) points. After each match is done, be sure to have the captains for both teams sign the scoresheet. MAKE SURE TO TURN IN COMPLETED SCORESHEET TO THE TOURNAMENT TABLE.
-
Two-way ties will be broken based on the head-to-head result first.
If head-to-head result was split (each team won one (1) set and scored the same amount of points) or there is a tie among more than two (2) teams, then it will be broken according to the priority system as listed below.
• Total points scored in pool play
• If two (2) or more teams are still tied, a comparison of the point spread of the total round robin competition will be calculated. Point spread shall be determined by subtracting the total points allowed from the total points won.
• The remainder of highest value shall be considered the superior team for tie-breaking purposes.
• If still tied, then one (1) set will be played to 25 points, no deuce.
-
The number of teams entered in the tournament will decide the amount of teams advancing to elimination play, as well as whether or not elimination play will be single or double elimination.
Games will be 8 minutes stop/go.
The best of three sets will win the elimination games.
Non-deciding sets will be played to 25 points, deuce, and capped at 27 points.
If necessary, the deciding set will be played to 15 points, deuce, and capped at 17 points.
