All teams participating must be ready to play by 9:00am on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Depending on the number of teams entering the tournament, these starting times may be changed. As much notice as possible will be given in the event of a change.
Teams not ready to play when their matches are scheduled risk forfeiture of their games.
-
Four (4) teams per pool, and there is a maximum of eight (8) teams per division.
(This may be altered depending on the number of teams entered in the tournament.)
Game:
Each game will consist of 2 (two) sets to 25 points, deuce, and capped at 27 points.Time:
Each set will be given 8 minutes, stop and go, meaning time will run until ball is called dead. If time runs out before a team has reached 25 points, the winner will be the team with more points. If teams are tied or within one point of each other, play will continue until a team is winning by 2 (two) points. -
Two-way ties will be broken based on the head-to-head result first.
If head-to-head result was split (each team won one (1) set and scored the same amount of points) or there is a tie among more than two (2) teams, then it will be broken according to the priority system as listed below.
• Total points scored in pool play
• If two (2) or more teams are still tied, a comparison of the point spread of the total round robin competition will be calculated. Point spread shall be determined by subtracting the total points allowed from the total points won.
• The remainder of highest value shall be considered the superior team for tie-breaking purposes.
• If still tied, then one (1) set will be played to 21 points, no deuce.
-
The number of teams entered in the tournament will decide the amount of teams advancing to elimination play, as well as whether or not elimination play will be single or double elimination.
Games will be 8 minutes stop/go.
The best of three sets will win the elimination games.
Non-deciding sets will be played to 25 points, deuce, and capped at 27 points.
If necessary, the deciding set will be played to 15 points, deuce, and capped at 17 points.
-

The color and design for the jerseys must be uniform for the team (except for the Libero).
Uniform numbers must be clearly visible and centered (both horizontally and vertically) on the player’s chest and upper back.
Each jersey must use the same color and number height for all players, except the Libero’s jersey, which may have different color and size numbers, provided it still meets the minimum criteria.
All jerseys must have permanent numbers from 1 - 99. Duplicate numbers are not allowed.
COURT MANAGERS HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO REFUSE A PLAYER’S ENTRY AFTER CONSULTING WITH THE ON-SITE OFFICIAL IF HE/SHE IS NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THIS AN ISSUE. MAHALO!

Each team must provide a first and second referee, a scorekeeper, a Libero tracker, a timer, and two lines persons. If you are late, you will be penalized a point for every minute you are late. THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE SCHEDULES and/or FORMAT PROCEDURES.
The Master Schedule will be posted at each gym location. It is the team representative’s responsibility to check the schedule for any time or location changes. Check with the Court Manager at the site of your next set to see how games are progressing. Anticipate schedule changes as the tournament committee may move games up if situations permit. The committee will arbitrate protests or any other questions that may arise on a case-by-case basis.
-
The team representative must check in with the Court Manager at the site of their first scheduled game to validate their roster prior to the team’s first game. If there are changes to the original roster that was submitted, they must be made at this time. Once your roster has been validated by the Court Manager prior to the first game, no changes to the roster will be allowed. A player will be allowed to play at any point during the tournament so long as he/she is listed on the roster prior to the start of the team’s first game. (A player does not need to play in pool play in order to play in the elimination playoffs.)
Should a team have an injury or injuries leaving them with 5 or fewer players, they will immediately forfeit that game. If they are not able to produce 6 players from their approved roster by their next scheduled game (pool play or elimination), they will be eliminated from the tournament. Under no circumstances can a player be added to the roster after the team’s first game in the tournament begins.
